DoublemANE LIONHEADS
At Boujie & Co. Rabbitry, we believe exceptional rabbits begin with intentional breeding, honest practices, and a whole lot of love.
We specialize in true dwarf Double Mane Lionheads, carefully breeding rabbits that mature at just 2.5–3.5 pounds. Our goal is to produce the classic teddy bear look so many families fall in love with, dense, plush coats with full facial furnishings and body coverage rather than a simple skirt. While many of our rabbits also carry the beautiful Vienna gene, we intentionally breed both Vienna and carrier Vienna lines to preserve health, structure, and diversity within our program.
Our passion doesn’t stop with beautiful coats. We are actively developing rich chocolate lines while remaining committed to excellent temperament, correct dwarf type, and healthy, well-socialized companions that thrive as indoor family pets.
Lionheads are truly one of the most rewarding rabbit breeds to own, but we also believe in preparing every family for success. Their luxurious coats require regular maintenance to stay healthy and free of mats. We recommend a quality slicker brush for routine grooming, along with occasional sanitary trims to keep them clean and comfortable. With just a little consistent care, these little fluff balls remain as soft and cuddly as the day you brought them home.
Every rabbit raised here is handled with care, accustomed to daily household life, and cherished long before they join their forever families. Whether you’re searching for a beloved, bunny you’ve always dreamed of, we hope you’ll find that special connection here.
DWARF SIZED, FLUFFY BUNNIES!What is the Vienna Gene?
The Vienna gene is a naturally occurring color gene found in rabbits that is responsible for producing the striking blue-eyed white (BEW) variety. A rabbit only becomes a true Blue-Eyed White when it inherits two copies of the Vienna gene, one from each parent.
Rabbits with only one copy of the Vienna gene are called Vienna carriers. These rabbits may have no visible signs of the gene at all, or they may display what’s known as Vienna markings. These markings can include small white spots, white toenails, a blaze, mismatched eyes, marbled eyes, or one blue eye. Every Vienna carrier is unique, and the amount of visible white can vary greatly.
The Vienna gene affects color only—it does not impact a rabbit’s health, personality, lifespan, or quality of life. Many breeders appreciate the unique beauty it can add to a rabbit’s appearance, while others choose not to work with the gene depending on their breeding goals, as it is not showable.
